THE ARTIST BEHIND EARTH CREATURE

Mother nature, flora & fauna and the earth have always captivated me. I am in awe of how powerful, beautiful and supportive it can be. Earth Creature is about being gentle on the planet, appreciating the present moment, conscious creation and consumption.

My name is Mikeala Pahl, I am the artist behind Earth Creature. Gariwerd is where I grew up, where I explored and adventured, where I loved and where I have been held by the land and mountains when I needed it the most. Now I get the pleasure and privilege of creating beautiful handmade artisan jewellery here.

Earth creature is a nurturing space for me to get into healing creative flow, it has been kinder to me than I could have ever imagined, helping me grow and bloom as a person.

Creating these pieces brings me so much joy and I am honored and so grateful for people to support my art. I am proud to call myself an artist and so proud to show my work to you.

I still have so much to learn, try and explore with Earth Creature and it is a pleasure to have you here.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT OF COUNTRY

I create my art on the lands of the Jarwadjali and Djab wurrung peoples. I’d like to pay my deepest respects to the Jarwadjali and Djab Wurrung peoples who have cared for this land, loved here, played here and created here. I have had the privilege of living in Jarwadjali and Djab Wurrung country for 20 years, and Yuwibara country for 7 years prior where I was born. 27 years is such a minute amount of time compared to 65,000 years of rich aboriginal history, Earth Creature recognises, respects and honors this. I pay my respects to elders past and present. Always was always will be aboriginal land, sovereignty was never ceded.
